| Introduction | Though title tender a basically bardic blog, you may muse more what’s on it? Well, a sonnet’s a poem of 14 lines written in iambic pentameter; which brings us back to terms titular! Still, circumventing supercilious circles, let’s ignore the hapless homonymic ‘what’s sonnet?’ for a fuller appraisal of the original question of content… There’ll be everything from dodgy doggerel to spirited stanzas: Lyrical limericks; epics endearing; haikus hilarious; ballads beguiling; pastoral prettiness; odes honorific; blank verse with writer’s block; and sonnets sneaked subtly in at the end so repetition doesn't make you sick! If you're interested in the nascent scrawls of a fledgling writer, most of this anthology will be enlarging upon the humorous side of wordplay, though there will be some more serious moments of reflection... nothing too narcissistic though; more an appreciation of barest beauty as chimes with belle and beast. P.S. Any feedback would be appreciated! |
