| Introduction | An idealist whose fondest dream is of peace and abundance in this world for everyone, but especially for the children. Role models include Gandhi, Christ, Buddha, Christiane Amanpour, Bill Moyers, Joseph Campbell, Avis Blum, Mohammad, Brigitte Kurr, Martin Luther King, people who put principle and service above politics and selfish concerns, who promote peace and harmony, and unnamed women everywhere who sacrifice their lives for the good of their children - people whose imperfections (which we all have) are outweighed by the lives they have lived in firmest affirmation of the words they espouse. This I seek to do on a very small scale, beginning by being the change I envision and living lightly as possible on this wonderful earth, our Mother - mother of us all. Being a person of some complexity, I have other dreams, activities and thoughts as well, but none so close to the core and more compelling with every passing year of my life. Personal responsibility is at the top of my list of desirable attributes, however challenging this may be. Thinking globally is the next virtue. And setting an example is the most honest testimony to belief. |
