| Introduction | My name is Alexandra and I am a Hungarian woman who has migrated to Sydney Australia with her family in the early 80's. Although I have been naturalized as an Australian citizen for almost 25 years now, feel fortunate and very happy to be living in this "lucky" country, a part of me will always remain Hungarian. So this site is about all that is Hungarian. My husband, who was born in Australia says I am too sentimental but I cannot help the excitement and warmth I feel when I can watch a Hungarian movie, listen to Hungarian music or even talk to someone about travelling to Hungary! I am not going to go on about the beginnings of how difficult and heart breaking it was at times, because it is in the past and it probably made us stronger and even better people. I know it sounds like a cliche but all you immigrants of any age know exactly how I feel. |
