| Introduction | is a specialist fabric shop, which sells a wide range of quality cotton fabrics for use in patchwork and quilting, dressmaking and other textile crafts. Ann Mayner's past interests include dressmaking, tailoring and soft furnishings but, in recent years, patchwork has become an all-consuming passion: she opened Quiltessential in 2005. Ann has expertise in many patchwork techniques and teaches most of the classes and workshops in the shop. She has exhibited quilts in major shows and particularly enjoys creating wall hangings and handbags. Darren Mayner, part time assistant in the shop and practising architect combines his design and drawing skills with his knowledge of patchwork to produce quilt patterns, which are sold exclusively in the shop. He has recently started making and exhibiting his own quilts. |
