| Introduction | I began searching for my birth family in July 1982. I also became inspired in 1982 when, after the death of my (adoptive) father, I found a number of documents, letters and pictures dating back to the mid 19th century. The discovery of the original Civil War Pension papers of my great grandfather was the beginning of the pursuit of this ever popular avocation. I turned my genealogy hobby into a business of sorts. I have put my research skills to use in helping authors do pre and post-publication research. And in the meantime I checked off one of my "bucket list" items and wrote a family history book. Now my birth family has been located and with the help of DNA testing has been confirmed. New adventures await ahead and my bucket list overflows. |
