| Introduction | Majored in Psychology at SUNY Albany. “Studied” abroad in Australia (Scuba Diving 101), introduced to the beauty of international relations. After graduation, I moved to Japan to teach English with the JET Programme. I fell in love with the people and culture of Asia: Japan,Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Bali, Vietnam, India, Nepal. Returned to NY after 2 1/2 years overseas. Waitressed. Considered journalism, law, and medicine. Worked at a non-profit AIDS organization, where I was introduced to the PA profession. HIV/AIDS Educator, Peer Program Manager, HIV pre/post test counselor for 2 1/2 years. Certified as a Personal Trainer: 2 1/2 years and counting. Shadowed an amazing PA and decided: PA SCHOOL OR BUST. Made a lot of difficult personal decisions, moved back home with the family, and went back to school full-time to complete pre-reqs. After 16 months of pre-reqs, question marks, frazzled nerves and interviews, I started PA school in August 2005. And so begins the next adventure... |
