| Introduction | I am an adjunct professor of Spiritual Formation and was formerly the Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program (D.Min.) at Multnomah Seminary. I previously served as a Pastor at B4Church for 28 years, teaching in our Bible Institute for 15 years, and more recently served 3 years as the interim pastor of the Longview (WA) Foursquare Church. One of my favorite words is "Enthusiasm!" |
| Interests | Apart from writing about and teaching the Bible, and listening to people tell their Jesus-story, I enjoy watching Mariners baseball, writing, reading, tennis, taking sunset photos, and mowing the grass! |
| Favorite movies | Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Fireproof, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Gettysburg, The Incredibles I & II, Narnia, Johnny Tremain and the Sons of Liberty, and great sports movies... e.g., Remember the Titans, Hoosiers, The Rookie, Facing the Giants, Glory Road, McFarland USA, 42, etc. |
| Favorite music | Soundracks by Hans Zimmer, Randy Edelman, Harry Gregson-Williams; Celtic-New Age by Jeff Johnson and Brian Dunning; Classic CCM by Nicole C. Mullen, Bethany Dillon, Chris Tomlin, Phil Wickham, Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, etc. I also like classical, Celtic folk, and some country music. |
| Favorite books | Of course, the Bible itself and commentary sets such as EBC, NICNT, and R. Kent Hughes' PTW, Other Non-Fiction-- Jesus Through Middle-Eastern Eyes by Kenneth E. Bailey, Delighting in the Trinity by Michael Reeves, Fiction-- Shiloh Autumn, by Bodie Thoene, The Little Minister, by J.M. Barrie, The Great Divorce, by C.S. Lewis, and I grew up reading heirloom original Hardy Boys books (brown covers). |
You've been invited to a fancy ball but the only thing you have to wear is an orange wooly jumper. What shoes do you wear?
I don't go to fancy balls. I went to a Quaker college and they don't dance...thankfully sparing me from the orange jumper in more ways than one. But if I still had to go, I have some blue suede shoes that would clash terribly.
