Introduction I've been wargaming for over 50 years and tried almost everything at some time. I was originally inspired by the writings of Don Featherstone, Charles Grant and Brigadier Peter Young. Nowadays I have enjoyed the revival of these "old school" wargaming doctrines but also seek to combine them with realistic terrain and figures and the many useful wargaming rules and systems that I've picked up along the way - hence the name of my blog! I wargame with small groups of friends old and new, mainly in my purpose built art studio/wargames room in an off-the-beaten-track Cotswold village. My chief periods of interest are: my Mid-18th Century Imagi-Nation; Seven Years War; American War of Independence; Napoleonic Wars, and WW2. Some readers may also know me as the "house artist" for Phil Olley's short lived magazine "The Classic Wargamers Journal, and I have since developed a lot of original military and historic art including the popular, and ever expanding Hussarettes series. Please see my art websites too. https://www.chrisgregg-art.co.uk/. and http://cheltenham-art.com/chrisgregg2.htm
