| Introduction | Since the age of seven or thereabouts as my mother sewed my clothes I gathered the scraps and made them into something of my own.... These little creations became inspiration for a life long passion for all things textile. Tertiary studies in Fashion Design and Production exposed me to different arenas of the clothing industry. From my hippie tie dye days to the constructing of day and bridal wear I have always been fascinated by texture. I'm a collector of all the beautiful things that get washed up on our beaches, birdnests that the wind has thrown about the sky, any insect case that has been deserted by its occupant. I just love exploring the wonderful colours and texture that nature is so masterful in creating. Constructing, stitching, felting, dyeing, printing, collecting, reading and op shopping all help to fulfil my need to be creative. |
