| Introduction | Lies Aris is an artist and a writer who was born, still lives, works and strolls the streets of Amsterdam. She digs up stories on the absurdity of seemingly common and daily situations. Stories are the basis for Aris’ art. She likes to place her pieces in public space apparently ‘blended’ into the surroundings. “In big cities the artificial nature and the many different cultural identities reveal a new urban paradise. I dig up my stories from this moist soil and visualize them into stories, urban interventions or sculptures.” |
