Introduction I earned a BA in Anthropology-Human Biology Concentration and a minor in Italian Studies from PENN in 2006. I’d been working on clinical drug trials since October 2005. How’d I get into that field with my degree, you ask? Well, in short: through work-study. The full story involves my time in Italy (food for thought later). While working, I took undergrad science classes at PENN. I wanted to build upon the basics I’d learned in my 101-courses years prior, in hopes that I’d gain more from my work. By the fall of ‘08 I was completing pre-med requirements, one-by-one. That summer, I took the plunge and applied to medical school. 1 year later, I remained filled with desire to delve deeper into the life sciences but was in need of a new direction. I researched science graduate programs in the Philadelphia area, and chose PCOM's Biomedical Sciences Program. Going in, I hoped to acquire a baseline of knowledge that I could use as a springboard for future employment or professional school. Half-way through, I'm still discovering ways in which this program challenges me, and makes me examine myself. It’s taught me that I have so much more to learn (in a good way guys, I promise!)
