| Introduction | I was born and raised in the rich Sacramento valley. Caught between two rivers; some of the farm lands here were once the richest and most fertile in the world. As a child I loved to discover hidden treasures in the swamps and creek beds that lead to the American and Sacramento rivers. My brothers and I would race our bicycles through the oak forests and grassy foothills and we would dig up wild onions from the baked clay earth. My mother taught us how to garden poorly and how to catch crayfish very well. I have left the nest since then; and while my world is now far from simple; it is still full of the magic and beauty my mother showed me. My husband is a wonderful man. Through his generosity I discovered travel, expensive French restaurants and higher fashion. But no matter how far I have come I will never forget where I came from. My mother tried and tried to teach me to cook when I was young; but I was stubborn and eventually she gave up. She did however, manage to teach me how to eat. I consider myself a food hobbyist and an expert on my own opinion. I try to cook often enough to appreciate a good dish and I eat out enough to recognize a truly excellent dish. |
| Interests | This is my second blog. My first, FoodEnthusiastReview was an exercise in eating. This second blog, SutterBodyBlog is an exercise in confidence. I have always been a confident go out and make it happen kind of girl... but like every woman I have to work at feeling comfortable in my own skin. This is my work. |
