| Introduction | I’ve been a writer all my life, starting with poems as a toddler (according to my mother). But it wasn't until a friend recommended me to fill in for an ailing reporter at Tennis Illustrated Magazine (a national monthly, now sadly defunct), that a writing career seemed possible. After that first assignment, I was hired to be their full-time editor. A few years later, D Magazine lured me from L.A. to Dallas, where I earned a national journalism award for my work. After serving as contributing editor for the international thriller and New York Times "Notable" Five Minutes to Midnight (Delacorte Press), I was inspired to write one of my own. Now, the award-winning Samantha Newman Mystery Series includes The Body Business, The Body Next Door, and The Body in the News.
