IntroductionBorn in Arasikere town of Karnataka state. Roaming around the degraded rocky hills and ponds near home and looking at common known surrounding wildlife, interest in wildlife sprouted. Did BSc(Forestry) in Shirasi, and MSc(Forestry) Ponnampet of Kodagu district, during which got ample opportunity to explore the Western Ghat forests of Karnataka. After completing studies, for a brief time worked as an Education Officer at Mysore Zoo and Contractual Asst. Professor at College of Forestry, Ponnampet. Joined Indian Forest service in the year 2008. In 2010, I was selected for the prestigious Hari Singh Fellowship to undergo Post Graduate diploma in Advanced wildlife management in the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun. After finishing training in Dehradun, my first posting in West Bengal was in Apalchand range for range training. Later for a year worked as Assistant Wildlife Warden, in the Rhino country Jaldapara national park. Then, worked as Divisional Forest Officer at Birbhum for two years and as Director at West Bengal Forest School, Dow-hill for a year.
