Introduction	Fifty is fabulous. My children are nearly all grown up. My husband has retired from the fire service. I retired from teaching Sunday School (25 years) and home school consulting (10 years). My career as a home educator will come to an end in two years. Community involvement started years ago with the League of Women Voters in Corvallis. From there, I have served on numerous boards and committees for community groups like Indoor Park, Keizer Soccer Club, Palma Ciea Swim Club, and city committees like Back Yard Burning Task Force, Budget, Community Television, and now City Council. I passionately believe that local government is where it is at. We can effect change in our own community, working together with our neighbors to make it happen.
