About me

Introduction I am Dr. Kirstin Meyer-Kaiser, a world-traveling marine biologist. Currently, I am an Associate Scientist and GC McConnell Fellow at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. I have lived in the United States, Germany, and Norway, traveled to numerous island nations, and set foot on every continent except Africa. I also occasionally participate in research expeditions at sea. My research spans polar, temperate, and tropical regions from the coastal ocean to the deep sea. This blog is about exploring the world and figuring out how it works. It is about the process of science, from identifying a question to publishing the answer. It is about the struggles, the victories, the cultures, and the people that I encounter along the way. I consider myself extremely fortunate that my work carries me across the globe and gives me the chance to explore. Feel free to ask me questions in the comments or just live vicariously.
