| Introduction | I was born in Southern California and lived in Japan from 1989-2004. I first visited mainland Australia in 2000, and Tasmania in 2002. In many ways, parts of Tasmania remind me of the Southern California of my childhood and in particular, the sleepy beachside town where I now live, Kingston Beach. (Kingston Beach is 10 kilometers south of the capital city, Hobart) |
