Introduction This is a replacement Web log for the original JackeHammer which "bots" seem to have taken over. Yep, this blog is written by the Jackie Melton who used to cover the Springfield, Missouri City Council for the Community Free Press years ago. I don't do that anymore. For a while I was a co-care-taker of a farm for Ruell Chappell, a local food activist, Ozark Mt. Daredevil, and human being extraordinaire, along with my husband Larry. We became the owners of that farm in 2017. We love our life on the farm. I'm also a church secretary and I assist my husband as half the cleaning crew at one of the oldest churches in Greene County, Missouri. We also contract annually with Hammons Products Company to run a black walnut hulling operation in the fall. I'll be sharing things about the farm life, food, God, Bible study, and anything I want to, it IS my blog, after all - and from time to time I'll probably tell you some things about a new group called Farm Resettlement Congress.
Interests God, Farming, Freedom, Gardening, Greenhouses, Church-life, Farm Resettlement Congress, Farmers' Markets, Family, Friends, Canning, Cooking, People, Good Music, Arts & Crafts, the simple life, the good life
Favorite Movies Being There. All the old Pink Panther movies. All the Indiana Jones movies. My first job was in a movie theater, I loved all the Woody Allen movies though I realize that may not seem respectable today. I don't see current movies, not that I don't want to, it just can't fight its way to the top of my priority list.
Favorite Music All good, but, please, it does need to be good.
Favorite Books The Bible, Herzog, A Confederate General in King Arthur's Court, Mr. Sammler's Planet, Mere Christianity, The Great Divorce, The Screwtape Letters
