| Introduction | I retired in April 2007 and am really enjoying myself. Not having to do anything unless you want to, not having to deal with people each day who you can't stand and not living by the calendar or the clock is sheer bliss!
I have a small house in Spain where my wife Sandra and I spend 4 or so months each summer. It is our bolt hole away fro the frenzied pace of life in the UK. Yes even in Norfolk it can be fast. Whereas in Spainit is calmer. Manana is the watchword. They tell you something will happen on Tuesday. But forget to tell you which Tuesday! We are lucky to have such a choice of lifestyles. I managed to get it through 48 years of continuous employment and working evenings and weekends behind the bar in a pub. I am lucky that I can afford to be retired. Money is not plentiful but the freedom is priceless. |
