| Introduction | The profile pic is of a pecan tree given to me by Bee Scott, a friend who has since passed away. He gave me a sapling that I planted, but which was chewed down to the nub at almost ground level by some evil animal. Thinking it hopeless, I noticed a small green bud at the base of trunk. I surrounded it with chicken wire, pampered it with compost and mulch, and then watered it faithfully. The growth in the picture occurred from that bud in the first season. The leaves you see are the first leaves of spring months later. |
