About me

Introduction I'm a journalist and published author from Tipperary in Ireland. My first book, 'GAA Confidential', a humorous polemic and miscellany on Irish sports, was published by Hodder in 2007. I’ve got an agent in New York, a collection of satirical pieces on pop culture with a bunch of London publishers, and two novels, a collection of short stories, a play and three film scripts in my computer. Honestly. To make a living I write for the Irish Independent and Guardian, and hope to move towards doing more satirical/humorous stuff. Think a mixture of Woody Allen, Flann O’Brien, www.theonion.com, a less misanthropic Charlie Brooker, and Jeremy Clarkson without so much testosterone. I agree that beauty is truth and vice versa. My ambition is to graciously refuse an Oscar for Best Director.
