| Introduction | I'm a designer and live in Forest Hill South East London (technically Sydenham). I was born in Glasgow, but lived a lot of my childhood in Ayrshire. I have three elder sisters and two elder step brothers. My mum lives in France. I studied Product Design at Glasgow School of Art and gained a first class honours degree(smug sod, but I worked damn hard for it so there). I moved to London in 1995 after being accepted to study my Masters degree at the Royal College of Art. I ended up declining the offer in favour of professional experience with the 'Tussauds Group'. I worked there till 2006 and was lucky to have developed many of the ride attractions for leisure parks like Alton Towers, Thorpe Park (for whom I was Art Director) and Heide Park in Germany. I was also heavily involved in the roll out of new Madame Tussauds Exhibitions including Shanghai, Washington DC amongst others. I've been lucky enough to travel a lot for work having worked in some interesting locations. I now work for a company 'wot I can't mention, doing similar work including Masterplanning new parks and Family Entertainment Centres. I also take on freelance projects if my workload allows. |
