| Introduction | Pastor Brian Shepherd's life and ministry are driven by a desire to glorify God by proclaiming the gospel and teaching God's people to grow in the grace and the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Pastor Brian graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Communications (2003). After experiencing God's saving grace in 2002, Brian's love for God's Word fueled him to earn his Master of Divinity (2006) and Doctorate of Theology (2009) from Jacksonville Baptist Theological Seminary, where he also served as Professor of Old Testament Studies and Director of Distance Education. Brian also is a NANC certified biblical counselor (2009). Pastor Brian comes to OPBC with a passion for the Word of God, dependence upon the Holy Spirit, and a priority to personally disciple men in their relationship with Jesus Christ. |

| Favorite books | I have too many favorite books to list. I most enjoy reading the Puritans and Reformers. Some of my favorite modern authors include: John Piper, Jonathan Edwards, Mark Driscoll, Wayne Mack, Paul Tripp, Donald Miller, Andrew Murray, Francis Chan, and Voddie Baucham. |
