| Introduction | My name is Jewel. I live in North Carolina, and am in college working towards a Bachelor's in Special Education, followed by a Master's in Special Education of the Blind and Visually Impaired. I am blind myself, having suffered a chemical burn to the face in July 2008 that caused cornea scarring, cataracts, and glaucoma. I enjoy doing researching on many topics, but mainly things related to my own life. This blog is a reflection on my love of blindness-related research. I am also a member of the National Federation of the Blind. |
