| Introduction | Born in the splendid rural isolation of Hohenlohe, Baden-Württemberg, south-west Germany, in an area with both Celtic and Roman influences, I became interested in archaeology at an early age, but the path of my life led me initially into the field of languages and translation. Having become disillusioned with the life of a struggling small business owner in a world of economic recession and cut-price translations, I decided to return to my first passion as a mature student, achieving a first class BA degree in Archaeology and Celtic Civilisation in 2008 and then an MA in Historical Archaeology in 2010. Currently I am volunteering at The National Railway Museum, York in order to gain some practical museum experience. My aim is to get a job in the heritage sector which will enable me to make a living – perhaps even by doing something interesting! |
