| Introduction | When I was twelve years old my parents gave me my first camera. Because of my fathers military career we moved every two years. With that camera I photographed things that I would most likely never see again. The volcano which was visible from our front yard in the Philippines, the castles along the Rhine River in Germany, the act of holding up the leaning tower in Pisa . All these memories are forever with me because of the photos. When I graduated from high school in Livorno Italy I returned to the United States and in 1986 I began a career as a flight attendant. I met my husband during that time and after 18 years of flying I hung up my wings with the birth of our daughter. As a new mother I documented every moment of her life with my new digital camera. I would take it to every birthday party and special event in her life. Before long I was being asked to take pictures of the neighborhood kids and their families. That is how my business began. I often tell my daughter the most important thing in life is to be happy, and if she can do the things that make her happy, she'll have a happy life. Photography makes me happy. |
