| Introduction | What happens when San Franciscan parents move to Maine (also known as the Land of Long Winters) with their young son, and find a serious dearth of good DVD shops, rep theaters and film festivals (not to mention strong coffee, ethnic foods and colonic cleansing boutiques)? They become intimate with Netflix! We’ll share our successes (and failures) in family-oriented cinematic exercises (and maybe take a detour now and then to discuss dad’s fondness for the cultiest of cult films). There's more to kids' movies than Disney and Pixar, you know. |

| Favorite movies | A Herculean task. Even listing a few titles would feel wrong. Maybe better to say that a few of my favorite directors are: Woody, the Cohen Brothers, Herzog, Kurosawa, Scorsese,Tarantino, etc. You get the picture. |
| Favorite music | Almost anything you won't hear on the radio. Sentimental attachment to the first wave of post-punk. New Zealand/Flying Nun scene. |
