| Introduction | I am the field director for Wings of Hope in Belize. I spend my days flying medical evacuation flights for the Belize Emergency Response Team. All of our patients come from islands off mainland Belize or secluded communities with limited road access. Although being a pilot is my main responsibility, it is not the only thing that I do. In my few years of doing this work, I have learned that a humanitarian’s job description is “finding and meeting the needs of the people you are serving and living with.” So regardless if the need is aviation based, if it’s a need, and it can be met, I feel that it is my responsibility to do it. |
