| Introduction | I graduated from SCTCC in 2005 from the Health Information Technology program. After getting a job at Adult & Pediatric Urology as a filing clerk while still in school, I was promoted to Medical Records Supervisor just 4 months later (before graduating!). I passed my RHIT exam, and that job evolved into a Health Information Services Manager position, as I pioneered their vision of going paperless, and led staff and providers through three Electronic Health Record Implementations. After 10 years there, they merged with CentraCare so I decided to teach here at my Alma Mater, and went back to school for my Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management at College of Saint Scholastica. I passed my RHIA and became Program Director in 2018. I am now in school for my Masters of Science in Educational Technology at Minnesota State Mankato. I’m also the current President of Region D of the Minnesota Health Information Management Association, an affiliation of the American Health Information Management Association. |
