IntroductionI am a medically retired Anglo-Catholic priest and Canon; a Priest Associate of the Holy House of Our Lady of Walsingham; member of the Society of Mary & the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament. My BA's in International Studies, M.Div. in theology, and D.Min. in chaplaincy, & I've been certified as a Thanatologist and a Traumatic Stress Specialist. I am very happily married, with 3 grandchildren. Before ordination, I was a journalist in 3 countries, & a EMT-P in 2, the US and Peace Corps/Korea. I've served parishes and volunteered as a police, fire or EMS chaplain in 5 US states, and was a Navy/USMC Chaplain until medically retired-- spine problems. I was then a hospital, then P/T hospice, chaplain until no longer able. I'm now a priest of the Igreja Lusitana, the under-staffed Anglican Church of Portugal, where for 4 years I've volunteered to celebrate the Mass and preach (in Portuguese) each Sunday. Thus I remained useful -- important, as I had to retire before 50. But... this past year my health worsened, and in December I retire yet again (#5) and leave Portugal for the diaspora-- Seattle, and a good Pain Clinic. What happens next is in the hands of God!
