| Introduction | My name is Sherry Reuter and I am from Livingston, Wisconsin, a small farming town of about 600 people. I graduated from college in 2007 with majors in elementary education and communications, with minors in Spanish and sociology. I studied education for a semester in Orebro, Sweden and studied Spanish in Heredia, Costa Rica. I taught English in Japan as well as an English and art program in rural Haiti. I spent time in Greece, Ireland, Norway, and Mexico while going to college and am very grateful for these experiences. I've also just completed my sixth year as a first and second grade teacher at the Forest Grove Community School, which is a place based charter school here in town. Some of my favorite projects have been designing a children's permaculture food forest and village with my class and teaching primitive building techniques and survival skills. I am certified in Permaculture and have completed the master gardener courses. I've been growing and canning varying amounts of my food since I was 20 years old. We have seven egg laying pet chickens, four pet rabbits, who live with the chickens, and two cats who know tricks. |
