Introduction	My name is James Cannon and I’m an artist and carver. I have been creating art all my life and in the last ten years I have dedicated my attention to ‘Te Toi Whakairo’. I have been trained traditionally by Kenny Jones, Kaiako in Taumarunui. In 2012 I moved on to the Bachelor Degree program called, ‘Te Maunga Kura Toi’ under ‘Te Wānanga o Aotearoa’ tutored by Master Carvers; Te Kuiti Stewart and Hohepa Peni. I graduated in 2013 with excellence and have been carving ever since! I plan to continue my fine-art quest through the notion of Whakairo -enhancing my knowledge, creativity and consciousness sharing my gift with others around me . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
