| Introduction | I am obsessed with the bigger questions and have been all my life. This obsession has taken me from Christian fundamentalism in my teens, to new age spirituality in my early twenties, to zen buddhism in my late twenties, to atheism in my early thirties. I currently believe that the appropriate response to reality is a philosophical nihilism. This doesn't mean I live nihilistically. I care more about others than most Christians (that's not saying much) because I don't think the good are rewarded and the bad are punished. Life is truly a tale told by an idiot. But it's so damned interesting that it is worthwhile most of the time. |
