| Introduction | The day after the 2007 October conference where Sister Julie Beck delivered her famous speech, "Mothers Who Know" my college son called me and said, "Mom, you are a mother who knows." What a great compliment to a mother. I hope I am a mother who knows. In addition, I have been known to be a writing mentor, Shakespeare teacher, mentor trainer, seamstress, costumer, cello teacher, director, curriculum writer, truth seeker, friend, wife, and grandma. But the thing I have always wanted to be is a mother who knows. I am a mother of six and foster mother to many. I have loved and cared for many children in my days. I am married to the perfect man for me. His unconditional love has made it possible for me to search for answers that have helped me to become a mother who knows. I hope my life experience and education has given me something of value to share. |
