| Introduction | This blog was inspired my year long research project into Islamic radicalization in prisons while at New York University. I am a life long New Yorker and an experienced journalist. I worked as a reporter for a major New York paper for four years. Before that I worked as the Director of Media Affairs for a Washington "talking head." I obtained my Bachelors Degree from George Washington University's Elliot School of International Affairs and I wrote my undergraduate thesis on the institutionalization of Anti-Semitism as a historical construct inherent to human culture. I obtained my Master's Degree in Global Affairs from New York University's Center for Global Affairs (graduating Summa Cum Laude) and I wrote my graduate thesis on the role of Islamic radicalization and recruitment in the prison system - both on an international and national level. During the course of my research, I also paid special attention to the role of deradicalization and its applicability in the Muslim world.
