Occupation County Councillor
Location Salisbury, Wiltshire, United Kingdom
Introduction I am a committed Christian, a mother of twins, now 18 years old, and an active member of the local community in Salisbury. Having completed a Joint Honours degree in Economics and Philosophy at Bristol University, I worked for IBM before taking a career break to raise her children. Since then, I have worked in a local school, served as a school governor, and helped to provide parenting courses. I was elected to Wiltshire County Council in May 2005 and was appointed to Cabinet with responsibility for Children and Families. In May 2006, I was given joint responsibility for Community Services, which comprises adult social care, libraries, community safety and community planning. In May 2007, I was given a new role as Cabinet Member for Culture.
