Introduction	I'm a writer, musician, and an associate professor of English literature and the Director of the Honors Program at Assumption College in Worcester, Mass. My most recent book is On Course: A Week-by-Week Guide to Your First Semester of College Teaching (Harvard University Press, 2008). I write a monthly column for The Chronicle of Higher Education on teaching and learning at the college level. My band is Hat On, Drinking Wine, and we play original roots music. I'm a multi-instrumentalist in the band, playing primarily piano and organ--but also accordion, tin whistle, and banjo.
