| Introduction | As an arthistorian, I am mainly interested in the interactions between people from different cultural backgrounds and how these interactions shaped the form and function of objects. When watching a documentary about the Franklin expedition in winter 2018, I wondered how I could contribute in gaining more knowledge about the expedition. With time, I began to be more interested in the Inuit perception of all the objects the men carried with them and their mode of adaptation. Because of that, I chose the pocket watch fragments for my master thesis. |
