Introduction | B.A./M.S. Columbia University. http://www.owlnet.onlinecommunity.com/owlnet/springsummer2001/perez.htm ........... I love America, however, I am concerned with the incompatible realities manifest in its present political, economic and social construct. I am cynical without being a Cynic. I am Liberal on some issues, extremely conservative on others: particularly on the separation of powers in government and the separation of Church and State. I'm a patriot, but symbols, in my mind, do not define patriotism, while Justice, Humanism and Intelligence do. I'm tolerant of other people's bad habits, but I would prefer that they would have the discretion to exercise their peculiar proclivities, not in my presence. Finally, I believe that there exists only one God, called "God" evoked differently in different languages. I live in Budapest where I plot the overthrow of the idiocracy that, presently, rules the world. No TV!.... http://www.budapestsun.com/full_story.asp?ArticleId={A8D7B3871B9C4308822CCF60C7A64D86}&From=Style |
Interests | History, Philosophy, Literature, Poetry, Music, Art, Journalism, Photography, Politics, Modern and Classical Languages |
Favorite Movies | "One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, " "Citizen Caine, " "GWTW."A few others, but not many. |
Favorite Music | I prefer Opera to all forms of music, however I can listen to anything from Gregorian Chant to Hip Hop. I draw a line on any music (or art form) that glorifies violence or is sexually exploitive. I have real First Amendment problems with that genre |
Favorite Books | Brothers Karamazov, Crime and Punnishment, Master and Margarita, Complete Yule and Cordier Edition of Marco Polo's Travels, All Classical Historians, 5000+ other books |
