My blogs
| Introduction | I am pleased to teach World History this year. In my high school American History class, I learned so much about how to read, write, organize, and most importantly, think. I earned a full academic scholarship to USF, where I completed a bachelor's degree in History and a minor in Business Administration. I was successful in college because of my History teacher, who taught us how to take notes, analyze, criticize, and debate. These are the skills I bring to the classroom and try to pass on. More than anything, I value effort. This means I am happier to see a project with messy glitter, crooked writing, and basic paragraphs than I am to see a perfect project that a parent helped a little too much. I value writing that came from a 6th graders brain, and demonstrates his or her understanding, and not Wikipedia's. I'm a tough teacher. I give the students my best each day, so I challenge them to do the same. Overall, I am a creative cat who loves to try new things. In my spare time, I paint, do Pilates, Yoga, write essays, and read all sorts of books (sometimes five at a time). But mostly, I am spending time with my husband and three year old daughter. |
