Introduction	I am a practicing heart surgeon in Central Florida. Born and raised in North Carolina, I attended UNC and double-majored with bachelor's degrees in Chemistry and Psychology. I played college football for the Tarheels from 1977-81. I received my M.D. from the UNC School of Medicine. I trained in general Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and in Cardiac Surgery at Emory in Atlanta. I am an author, with a new book, "Surviving The Suffering" currently available in both hardcover and softcover editions on this website. I am married to Carol, my lovely wife. I enjoy flying as a private pilot.
Interests	Helping people through their suffering. From a surgical standpoint, I specialize in heart valve surgery, especially through small incisions.
