Introduction Birding & Wildlife viewing opportunities in Florida are great. The "Sunshine State" is home to many species of birds, insects, mammals and fish. The primary goal of this blog is to provide information on Florida's amazing wildlife as well as answer frequently asked questions like: Where can I watch Manatees? What time of year is best to see the Miami Blue Butterfly? The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission has several programs aimed at developing, promoting and enhancing wildlife viewing in Florida. At its core is the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail, a network of 491 sites throughout Florida that have been selected for their excellent wildlife viewing and educational opportunities. Visit this blog and our other webpages to learn more about the many wildlife viewing opportunities that are available throughout the state. We hope you find our blog enjoyable and that it encourages and enhances your own "On the Trail" experiences.
