| Introduction | What happened to America? The land of the free and the home of the brave has become the land of the incarcerated and home of despair. For the late boomers and Gen X, this happened before our eyes and on our watch. After the crash of 2008, I decided to roll up my sleeves and TRY make a difference. I became more active, more aware, and started avidly reading everything I could find on economic inequality and corruption. I became a local district leader for the Democrats and gained a better understanding of the inner workings of party politics. What I have found is that a previously robust system of checks and balances is crumbling under the crushing strain of greed and corruption. |
