Introduction My name is Becca and I want to thank you for checking out my blog!! I have to be honest and say that I am not the "blogging" type, but I hope to learn a little something about it in this journey. I absolutely love everything about reading. More specifically, I love teaching reading. I really love reading but when school starts my reading is filled with that of my curriculum and/or teaching resources. I would like to share some books that I have like and/or disliked with you. I would also like to share some teaching ideas and various tips on technology. Tips being the key word as not everything I use or try will be what readers need! Another love of mine, that I don't have enough time for or make enough time for, is organizing. It is my goal to share any organizational techniques I may have used or tried to use in my classroom or even at home :) ENJOY!!
Interests Reading, parenting, teaching, coaching, pinning (on pinterest), organizing, and cooking/baking.
Favorite Movies The Holiday - this is such a feel good movie and I love the idea of doing something off the cuff and relaxing. Eat, Pray, Love - I think this a completely love it movie or a completely hate it movie. I completely love it!!! Again, it is a feel good movie that inspires me to sit back and take life in slow strides. Goodness knows that seldomly happens.
Favorite Music If I have to be honest.... I don't listen to a lot of music, if any. My audio consists of a movie I have popped in the car dvd player for my son or a book I am listening to on my ipod. I brought my ipod to school and a couple of my students asked if they could see what music I had downloaded and I laughed and said, "You used these for music?" I ONLY have audio books downloaded. However, I do love to watch any show on t.v. that has music (American Idol, X-factor, glee - only for the music, and yes I will admit it, the disney channel :)
Favorite Books Where to start and where to end??? By far, "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers is my favorite book. Other adult favorites = The Camel Club series by David Baldacci (which is a far cry from Francine Rivers books - but LOVE him as an author) "The Blood of Flowers" by Anita Amirrezvani YA/Teen books = "HUNGER GAMES" by Suzanne Collins - Love Love!!!!! "I Am Number Four" by Pittacus Lore (am stoked to read "The Power of Nine soon!!) "The Man Who Loved Clowns" by June Rae Wood (love this so much, I read it to my eighth graders. It is a great book to teach multiple teaching themes and reading strategies.) Teaching Resource Books = "The Book Whisperer" by Donalyn Miller
