| Introduction | First gig I attended was on 15/12/1984. I went to watch the First Festival Of Portuguese Heavy Metal with bands like Xeque Mate, Tarantula, STS Paranoid and a few others. It was two months after my 14th birthday and since then I was never the same person...Schizophrenia got me really bad. Only joking, I met some of the bands and organizers immersing myself in a sub culture that helped quite a lot with the development of my personality and tastes. My political views and out take on society were also shaped by some of the bands I listened to. I'm 42 and live in Leicester, UK . After living in Germany (Freiburg) and Spain (Barcelona) during the early and mid 90s. Anthrax was my favourite band in the 80s and the best gig I ever saw was Destruction and Girlschool opening for Motorhead in Lisbon, Portugal 1986. Nowadays I'm more inclined to bands like Pagan Altar, Briton Rites, Hour of 13, Christian Mistress, Pentagram and all the NWoBHM revivalists. |
