IntroductionAlan Blover is not my real name. All else is accurate. Born in Carlsbad, NM, 1945. Got ham license, 1961. Knew I was gay, 1962. Moved to Lakeland, FL, graduated, 1963. Attended NMSU as EE major, 1963-1964. Graduated from UF in Psychology, 1968. Joined Twin Oaks (commune) in central Va., 1970. Worked as resident teacher/staff at Green Valley School in Orange City, FL, 1971. Worked as teacher at Edgemeade group foster home in Md., 1972-1974. Moved to NW Chicago suburbs, worked as electronic technician, designer, and software engineer for Motorola, 1974-1985. Met domestic partner, 1982. Created and operated computer matching service for gay men, 1982-1993. Moved to Los Angeles,1993. Moved to Atlanta, 1997. Worked in IT for corporate headquarters of hotel chain, 1997-2002. Opened a SuperSlow® personal strength training studio, 2001. Domestic partnership ended, 2003. Business failed, moved to Seneca, SC, 2004. Was entrapped and arrested by undercover feds and pled guilty to abusing a channel of interstate commerce, 2005. Spent 29 months in federal prison. Was released to Los Angeles, 2008. Off probation in 2015.
