Introduction	I think of myself mostly as independently democratic, although I am new to politics. My experience with political activities, while not extensive, has interested me in politics. This year I was invited to attend the American Legion’s Boys State, where we simulated government for a week. In this program I was elected to the House of Representatives where we were allowed to create and pass laws we came up with. I do not think of myself as “hip” with politics and current events, so I was pleasantly surprised when I did not completely flunk the current events. I scored in the 73% in the current events quiz and in the 84.85% of the Civics Quiz. Both of these quizzes I took because of the government class I am currently taking (Note the beautiful segue). I am taking this class so I can learn more about the fundamentals of government and how to be apart of it in an informed manner, this is also what I wish to get out of the class. I would like to be a part of the decisions that effect my generation and make sure that they are the right ones, to this end I am in this government class.
