Introduction The purpose of Extension, since its creation in 1914 with the passage by Congress of the Smith-Lever Act, has always been to provide unbiased research from the land grant university in each state to the people of the United States by working cooperatively with county governments. Here in Georgia, the land grant university is University of Georgia. The Cobb County Cooperative Extension office works in areas of Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H and Youth, and Urban Agriculture/Horticulture. This blog will focus on Urban Agriculture/Horticulture.
