| Introduction | I have always been attracted to diversity and I am a true xenophile - someone who is attracted to foreign people, things and cultures. Even in grade school I was attracted to children from other places. I always loved to hear about other parts of the country and the world. I always longed to travel. My parents took my brother, John and I on many great trips while we lived with them. Then after I married my husband, Bill, we were very blessed, and we managed to travel the world with his job. We lived in England, Belgium, The Netherlands (Holland), Sweden twice, Germany 3 times and Australia twice. Our favorite place was Australia. We also spent many great years living in Detroit, Michigan, USA. Our daughter, Katy was born there, and I graduated from Wayne State University twice. Bill worked as an automotive designer there. Our two beautiful children who are both married to wonderful people still live there. Our daughter, Katy and her husband, John have two children, and our son, Matthew and his wife Janna had their first child in April. Now we are so happy to be living in Phoenix, Arizona - which looks and feels so much like Australia. |
