| Introduction | The truth of God’s Word leaping off the pages and into daily messy family life in 2010---that’s why these devotions were created. These stories/blogs won't feature a serene Norman Rockwell family. Instead, the participants are likely to be covered in grass stains, hiding worms in their pockets and chewing with their mouths open while they spill about their day. These lessons won't come on flannel boards, but on the court, in the kitchen, the grocery line, the beach, a mission, the compost, the garden... the possibilities are endless. These are NOT devotions to create the perfect Christian family---I looked, couldn't even find one in God's Word so I gave up. This is NOT a guide to make your children tow the line. Instead these are stories from daily life with kids, shared with the sole purpose of growing a radical love for Jesus which transcends Sundays and spills out all over every day. Verses from The Message version of the Bible are used through all the stories unless otherwise noted. Teachable moments are found and unfolded here as a compass pointing directly to knowing and loving Him more! Let's link arms with the One who loves us more than life! |
